I just received a purchase from eBay seller:  IO Link 2540 or device 43.  Is this a legit Insteon device or did I get a bootleg?  My original which is fried has an Insteon label on it vs this smart home branding.  This one is v1.9 1223..am I gonna have issues with it?

Old ones and new ones have both worked side-by-side and interchangeably in my network for years.  I lost one due to HW failure just a couple months ago, but have replacement capacitors on-hand to attempt a repair.  The circuit boards are different, and the capacitor values are too I think -- but I've observed no differences in fundamental behavior or reliability.

This is from checking 3 2450  I/Olinc versions

V1.0, V1.8 and V2.3.

All three have four capacitors. Three are all the same C3 6.8uF/250V , C11 100uF/25V and C8 10uF/16V.

The change is  C7. None looked like they are designed to be in  a switching supply. As it has the same LNK354GN switching chip as a 2413S. V1.0 10uF/25V, V1.8 10uF/50V parallel to board due to size, V2.3 220uF/50V parallel to the board due to size.

I personally wouldn’t be using any Insteon device built before 2015. As anything before that year will have the ALL ON / ALL OFF command set.

If this is intended for the GDO you surely don’t want the largest door opening up all by itself while you’re away!

To be more specific Insteon engineers indicate October 2013 as the date the above command set was removed from all new production hardware. Hardware that was in control of Smarthome was reflashed to remove the same.

The reality is that wasn’t true or addressed hardware out in the wild held by 3rd party sellers.

I know this to be true because I purchased a huge lot spanning December 2013 - November 2014 and these devices were impacted by the ALL ON / ALL OFF command set!

Even worse in 2015 - 2016 I received brand new hardware from Smarthome built in 2014?!? The last sale on Smarthome also showed retail boxes that only existed in 2013 - 2014 yet were sold in 2021?!?

The lack of FIFO inventory management control is clearly evident by this half assed company!
