MrBill Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Any recommendations on whose got the best price these days for domain registrations, specifically .com, I own 3, two of which come free with an account, but I pay for the 3rd and the current registrar just raised to price to 24.95. Of the registrars I can think of Namecheap.com seems have the best deal at 9.18 transfer with 1 year and 13.98 renewal. Anyone know how many years namecheap will allow you to pay ahead. My current registrar limits it to 2, but I'd prefer just to pay 10 years and forget about it for awhile.

I've used Namecheap for many years. They allow renewals out to a total of ten years, although without any significant (if any) discounts. At least for .com domains. I've used namecheap before but not recently... both google and microsoft seem to be cheaper at 12/yr, up to 10 years. Of course one advantage to paying 10 years in advance is beating price increases that happen over time. my current registrar was 7.95 back when i started, then 9.95 then 11.95 then 13.95 and now all the sudden the email comes that .com's are now 24.95/yr going forward.... No it's not, I'll transfer..... They only allowed 2 years max renew ahead which always irritated me, they claimed the short the limit was to prevent fraud--I never figured that out... but they did used to have a great price... not anymore.
