EP40 outdoor dual outlet remote switch kind of works

Hi @Jimbo,

Great job on Kasa. I thought I would venture out and try the output dual switch plug, the ep40. The node server found it and listed it in ISY on Polisy no problem.

ISY will control each switch just fine but the status for each switch does not update in the admin console.

Interestingly the SmartStrip node has an on and off button at the bottom of the page. Which when turned on the status updates but nothing happens to the switch, same when it is turned off, the status updates but nothing happens at the switch.

I am thinking this switch isn't supported yet, I know I am a bit slow sometimes, lol.

But I also noticed when I went to copy the log in Kasa ns, it hasn't updated since last night. But about 5 minutes after  I set it to debug it started spitting out data.  Has there been any other reports of a log issue or kasa issue like this?

Kasa v3.0.7

PG3 v3.0.36  with front end same

ISY-Polisy v5.3.0

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks for the details, I've added this info to an existing report about multiple outlet devices like that, I don't have one but do have the multi outlet power strip which should work the same so I will test when I have time
https://github.com/UniversalDevicesInc-PG3/udi-poly-kasa/issues/3

Also, thanks for the log in email, I will get to this when all my nodeservers are converted to PG3, still 2 more to go.

This is fixed in 3.0.8

I also have the EP40 switch and NS version 3.0.10. I find that after some time passes the status will no longer change when either outlet changes state. If I restart the NS all is fine again. Not sure what else is happening as I just started to take a look at it. I restarted the NS and the status is tracking okay again. I'll look for any clues if/when it acts up again.  -phil

I have the Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug, Smart Home Wi-Fi Outlet with 2 Sockets, EP40 and the status value is getting stuck.

One of the outlets, which is on all day, gets stuck as ON. The other outlet, which is usually OFF all day, gets stuck as OFF. If I restart the Node Server, it will correct itself but then sometime later it reverts back to being stuck.
When I toggle the outputs manually with the ISY the outlet condition does change and the status switches correctly for just a second but then flips back to the stuck value.

I checked the Node "ST" value in the Kasa Node Server, and it is indicating the same stuck values, i.e. 100 for ON and 0 for OFF.

I just checked on the smart plug and its status is now stuck again. I captured the log package and it's attached in case you can take a look. I was toggling both sockets on and off. The status in the Kasa iPhone App was changing but not in the ISY.

I can see in the Kasa log where the ST value is being flipped back to 100 after it was correctly set to off. (See highlighted in magenta)

I do not have this specific device, but I do have a power strip which uses the same exact code.  I was able to see this happen one time, but I can not make it happen again.  I added more debug code to try and pin down why this is happening, so if you can update to 3.0.11, make sure the NS Log is in Debug mode, then see if you can make it happen again.  You can download the log and send it to me in a PM again and say which Node name was showing the issue.

What I think is happening is the node server says to turn off the plug, then poll's the main device, because it can't poll the individual plug, and for some reason it is reporting the plug is still on.  I can add a delay in between, but that's not really a robust solution.

Same here.. I just added this plug to my system and same result here. flips momentarily to On, but then shows off.

Restarted NS and now is operating as expected and as it did when I first installed it earlier today.

thanks. Jim.

24 hours later, still seems to be working correctly.
