vbPhil
Migrated to IoP yesterday and continuing to check things out. Today I noticed email was set for "Use Default" instead of what I had in 994i so I guess that's not saved in the Backup/Restore file. I reconfigured to what I was using in 994i and performance is iffy. I'm getting SMTP --1 errors and occasionally it does work. I cleared out the Error Log, it's so messy to read with notepad. what happened to line feeds? anyway here's the error entry from a Test Email that never went out and no error message was displayed. Mon 1900/01/01 00:00:00 System -170001 <s:Envelope><s:Body><u:SendTestEmail xmlns:u="urn:udi-com:service:X_Polisy_Service:1"><id>4</id></u:SendTestEmail></s:Body></s:Envelope> any ideas on what I need to tweak? I'm using mail server; mail.smtp2go.com and the port setting doesn't seem to matter much. smtp2gp supports many ports. Also, TLS is checked. Settings allowed for SMTP2GO: Connecting via SMTP SMTP Server: mail.smtp2go.com SMTP Port: 2525 Alternative ports: 8025, 587, 80 or 25. TLS is available on the same ports. SSL is available on ports 465, 8465 and 443. Link to comment

I believe that's what I had set in the 994i. We'll see how it does going forward. I had already tried that port but it liked it this time. Got a much longer error message this time which includes the SMTP settings. The time stamp is still not being set. That must be a bug. Here's the error log entry, (I redacted some values) Mon 1900/01/01 00:00:00 System -170001 <s:Envelope><s:Body><u:SetSMTPConfig xmlns:u="urn:udi-com:service:X_Polisy_Service:1"><SMTPConfig><SMTPServer>mail.smtp2go.com</SMTPServer><SMTPPort>587</SMTPPort><SMTPUID>"redacted"</SMTPUID><SMTPPWD>"redacted"</SMTPPWD><SMTPFrom>"redacted"</SMTPFrom><SMTPTimeout>1000</SMTPTimeout><UseTLS>true</UseTLS></SMTPConfig></u:SetSMTPConfig></s:Body></s:Envelope> Wed 2022/02/23 12:24:48 0 -170001 <s:Envelope><s:Body><u:SendTestEmail xmlns:u="urn:udi-com:service:X_Polisy_Service:1"><id>4</id></u:SendTestEmail></s:Body></s:Envelope> Link to comment
Techman
The 170001 is not an error, it's an informational message. Re: the time stamp, make sure your Polisy is displaying the correct time zone and time. SMTP servers that require an encrypted connection usually use port 587. Link to comment

Yes ISY has the correct time set. The correct time is found for subsequent messages further in the log but incorrect at the start of the log. Sort of hard to see when a message starts and ends because they all run together. Would like to see that fixed. Link to comment
vbPhil
SMTP still wasn't working so I put in a support ticket. @Michel Kohanimresponded with setting the timeout to 10,000 with port 587. The 10,000 timeout fixed the issue. Michel always makes this stuff seem so simple. I tend to get blinded by what's right in front of me. Old age I guess. -phil Link to comment
