VPatel01 Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 I have ISY994i and PLM Serial Connector. It was all working good till last couple of days. Recently I started noticing that all my Insteon devices doesn't respond immediately. Using ISY Javaws utility when I turn it on / off it doesn't respond immediately. It all stared recently. I tried factory resent both ISY and PLM. I am unable to identify the issue. Any help will be appreciated:)
Brian H Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 You may want to open the Event Viewer in Level 3. Then look at the messages sent and received. When you try and turn a device on and off. You may have a signal problem. Like a new electronic device or existing device making noise or starting to absorb communication message. 1
MrBill Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 If you don't know where the event viewer that @Brian H mentioned is located, Admin Console > Tools > Diagnostics > Event Viewer. Be sure to change the dropdown to Level 3 after the event viewer window opens. 1

The first 5 commands are all the same as you have said, but after each command sent to the PLM it should have sent back as ACK if the command was valid or a NAK if the command was not valid or the module did not respond back. It looks like the module did not send back a message when you addressed it. The last message did get a reply back from the module and had a ACK and then a (standard length Insteon message) SRX message from the module. Hard to say. PLM not receiving a message or module did receive it and responded but the PLM did not see it. Since the first messages did not get an ACK or NAK. It could be the PLM but I can't say with any authority. Or maybe a power line signal issue to that module.

Brian H Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 The module in question. Is not showing a reply back from the PLM or the module on the first tries. Could be the module itself. PLM has send and receive problems. Power line noise especially if it is one one of the power line only modules like an I/OLinc. That was why I askked if you could send the commands slower to give things time to settle out. Got the revision and date code from the back of the PLM? Trying a new PLM would give you information on finding the problem but it could be something different like line noise or a failing module.

Brian H Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 If the problem module. Is plugged in. Try it in a different part of the home. On a completely different circuit. That may show if it is a communications issue or the module is on its way out. 1
