I'm wondering if anyone knows of a Z-Wave device that can accept a simple contact closure input (from a relay) and report it to trigger an ISY program (in an If statement).  I'm using a Topens HLR01 to accept a Homelink signal from my car's remote control, and it provides relay outputs.  I would like to use one of these to trigger a Z-Wave signal that in turn runs a program in the ISY.

I have a MIMO2+, which looks very nice, except it doesn't work (as reported elsewhere in this forum).  I can add it as a Z-Wave device, but only one each of the two input and output channels show up, and the input does not seem to be usable to trigger a program.

So, now I'm looking at the Zooz Zen16, and hoping that the inputs actually show up when paired to the ISY, and that they can be used in a simple If statement.  Does anyone have experience or advice to offer?

@KCrater I use a Smartenit EZIO2X4 that works well with the ISY994i, I haven't moved it to IoP yet so I can't say if there will be any issues with IoP.

  • Two opto-isolated digital inputs (3-30VDC)
  • Two inputs configurable as digital (0-1VDC for ON, 3-5VDC for OFF) or analog (10 bit resolution, 0-1023 points)
  • Two normally open relays (contacts rated .5A at 30VDC or 120VAC – resistive loads)
  • Acts as an Insteon sender with each of the 4 inputs able to trigger a group on/off command or broadcast message
  • A timer from 1 second to 255 minutes can be set on each input to delay the command sent in the ON to OFF transition
  • Configurable to send Insteon commands or broadcast messages at programmable thresholds (alarm points) on the analog inputs
  • A timer from 1 second to 255 minutes can be set on each relay to allow momentary pulsing or unattended turn off
  • Responds to Insteon and X10 commands to turn on or off each or any combination of the 2 relays
  • Extensive command set for maximum programming flexibility
  • Acts as a repeater of powerline Insteon signals
  • 2-way communications for high reliability
  • Equipped with usable pass-through outlet (not shown)

Thanks, kzboray.  I notice, though, that the EZIO2X4 is an Insteon device, and I'm actually trying to switch over to, ultimately, an all-Z-Wave installation.  In fact, I currently have a couple of 2450 IOLinc devices in my installation to bring in signals from a Dakota Alert driveway sensor, and I'd like to replace them as well.

@KCraterGet the Zooz Zen17 because you can separate the inputs from the outputs.

I have a couple... one senses a pump motor via dry contact output AC sensor. Another is on my garage door and senses door closed via reed switch, and I use relay out on that for garage button control.

Zen17 can do two simultaneous inputs and should work for what you want.

To clarify... I can touch a paperclip between the two connections on either of the two the inputs and I can see it almost instantly update the ISY. I have moved to IoP but had working on ISY994i with 500 series Z-Wave before.
