Dishboy007 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Anyone have an extra white status led for Insteon 2876S ICON In-Wall On/Off switch? Mine is orange. Is that the normal color? It's the only one I own. Just wanted it to match the others.
upstatemike Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 As I recall the Icons had green or yellow LEDs with clear light pipes so no way to get to white. 1
Dishboy007 Posted May 2, 2022 Author Posted May 2, 2022 ok, thanks. I wasn't really sure, and couldn't find any info.
upstatemike Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 You could put yellow light pipes on all of your Insteon switches and get everything to match that way.
Brian H Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I have one that looks sort of orange but maybe yellow. I believe the LED is that color and not changed with a colored light pipe. I tired a light pipe from an Insteon switch and in my case it did not snap in correctly.
upstatemike Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I have used a red Insteon light pipe with the yellow LED Icon to mae a dark orange. It fit OK. You are not going to turn a yellow LED white though. All you can do is make the white LEDs on Insteon switches yellow to match using yellow light pipes.
hart2hart Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I’ve never looked but assume it’s a surface mounted LED. If not or you have SMD skills, and it really bothers you, you could consider replacing the LED.
Dishboy007 Posted May 3, 2022 Author Posted May 3, 2022 It's been awhile since I've done any surface mounting. I will probably leave it alone.
