wwat Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I'd like to understand exactly what this is used for and whether I can use it. Seems like this section might be state/country specific? I see California referenced in a few places regarding the Flex alert section. I live in Toronto canada. Thanks,
Michel Kohanim Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Hi wwat, If you do not have a Brultech meter, then this section does not apply since: 1. Flex Your Power is California only 2. Open Auto DR is for commercial venues in some US states With kind regards, Michel
wwat Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 Hi Michel, Since this feature is only useful in such a limited geographic area wouldn't it make some sense to provide it as a free add-on rather than include it in the base product which is distributed worldwide. If this 'electricity' page is ultimately to made into a generic solution then it would make sense but that doesn't appear to be the case. Regards, Hi wwat, If you do not have a Brultech meter, then this section does not apply since: 1. Flex Your Power is California only 2. tahoe Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I would rather see it modified to allow us to enter a wattage value for each device. I could them poll for the kilowatts each device is using. I know it would be some what a guess on watts for some circuits, like dimmers.
Michel Kohanim Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Hi tahoe, This is actually one of our requirements. With kind regards, Michel I would rather see it modified to allow us to enter a wattage value for each device. I could them poll for the kilowatts each device is using. I know it would be some what a guess on watts for some circuits, like dimmers.

Initially thats kind of what I initially thought it did, looks like Michel has plans to make it that way which is good to hear. I can't justify the expense of the Brultech system at this stage but something like what you suggested would be interesting since most of the frequently used electrical appliances are tied into the ISY. Regards.
Teken Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Just a follow up as to the current status of this portion of the application. Wanted to know if any new enhancements will be forth coming in this module.
Michel Kohanim Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Hi Teken, Adding wattage per node is still on the table. The reason it has low priority is because we added the Brultech energy monitoring capability which is much more accurate and can handle seven channels. With kind regards, Michel
wwat Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 Hi Michel, Are there any screen shots and documentation of the Brultech/ISY plugin functionality. Apart from a small page on the Wiki I cant find anything. Thanks, Wayne
Teken Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Hello Michel Kohanim, Looking forward to any future enhancements to this area. As others have expressed we are trying very hard to work with what we have on hand before spending anymore money in such hard economic times. As always I thank you and those who support this great device.
Michel Kohanim Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Hello wwat, We are going to work on some more detailed information. Teken, We'll do our best and I, personally, totally understand where you are coming from. With kind regards, Michel
