Motion Detector 2420M

Featured Replies

Hi -

It is my understanding that before the ISY administrator can be used to change settings in the 2420M Motion controller, I must open 2420M and press the set button. This seems to be true to change any settings or to add responders to a scene in which the 2420M is a controller.

If I connected the direct plug in transformer (rather than running on battery power) to the 2420M, would that allow direct access to the 2420M?

It would be nice to not have to go out in the cold weather whenever I want to make a change the its settings.

Thanks,

Steve

Since the Motion Sensor is normally run by a battery. It goes in to power saving mode. It is a function of the sensor itself and I don't believe it can be remotely woken up.

Have to say, I just started using the 2420M and that was one of my dissapointments. Especially since you have to remove a screw and pop off the back cover to get at the set button. Bit of a design flaw. I was considering drilling a pinhole in the cover so I could at least stick a paper clip in there to press. Otherwise, seems to be a nice product.

my answer for this problem is not using the screw. The only place that the screw would really be needed would be for an outdoor use for the motion sensor.

It does seem like belt and suspenders.
