CPrince Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 I am thinking of migrating my 994 to IoP this week. Instructions look straight forward. I am probably 95% Insteon. I have a serial PLM on the 994 and a USB PLM in the closet. Question is should I just use the USB PLM on the Polisy for the migration? Or would I be better off transferring the Serial PLM from the 994 to Polisy? I would have to build a serial to RJ45 cable. I am thinking it would be safer to use the USB PLM. What about all the links stored in the PLM?

Expand I didn't reply the first time I read this thread but I agree with @hart2hart A "Replace Modem" or actually "Restore Modem" when the Insteon address changes is very intensive. It re-writes all links to all devices. Cross the conversion to USB when you're forced to by a non-responsive PLM, until then just use the 2413s with Polisy. 1
