thewebgeek Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 With winter approaching, and Polyglot Cloud (PGC) still offline, does anyone have a workaround to bring in weather data to the ISY994? I migrated to Polyglot cloud after the built-in weather service was turned off, but with PGC offline, I am stuck. Any help is appreciated.
tlightne Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 If you do not have your own PWS you can load Open Weather node server and pull data from there.

How do you configure a node server on the ISY994 without Polyglot Cloud? Edited November 6, 2022 by thewebgeek

You need either a Raspberry Pi system to run PG2 (no longer being developed) or would need to find a Polisy to run PG3 and run node servers on that. Otherwise, there's no current way to get node server (and therefore weather) information into an ISY994. Check this post from @larryllix about having a spare Polisy if you wanted to venture into that realm. PGC went down in February. At that time there were probably a fair amount of Polisy available (and UDI offered a discount for those relying on PCG). Since then there has been a big demand on Polisy and they've been out of stock since the summer. Now, there's a new device coming out (the eisy - find posts about it in the Coffee Shop section of the forums), but don't wait for that to be available soon if you're needing something for system critical use. Good luck.
thewebgeek Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 It sounds like the RPi may be my best option until the Eisy is available, especially since I have one on hand. Are there any setup guides still available for PG2?

There are some old videos showing the install. I know there were some topics earlier this year saying that something in a current/recent release for RPi changed the process. Having never attempted such an install I can't tell you what to watch for. Check the PG2 area of the forums. Here's the GitHub for PG2 - https://github.com/UniversalDevicesInc/polyglot-v2 Videos - https://forum.universal-devices.com/forum/158-instruction-videos/ Found those posts from earlier this year that might help: Good luck. Know that PG2 is no longer being developed so support could be limited.
thewebgeek Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 The temporary PG2 solution is in place and working! Thanks again for the help and I look forward to the EISY being released. 2
Geddy Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 @thewebgeek excellent! That was super fast to get it up and running so quickly. Glad the information worked to make it "easy" to setup.
