ingeborgdot Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Authorization failed.Authorization failed.Authorization failed.Authorization failed. That's all I see. What gives. I can't even get in.
Brian H Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 What Operating System are you using? Do you have the needed Java Program? Do you have a Firewall Program and what is it? What Router are you using? Default user and password are admin. If you use caps it will not work. Are any of the LEDs on the ISY99i On? Other than the PWR.
ingeborgdot Posted February 27, 2010 Author Posted February 27, 2010 Vista Ult. 64bit Java-yes Only firewall is windows firewall I have a router from 2wire 1701HG- Gateway along with 2 - Gig switches on the system
Brian H Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Have you tried going though the UDI Link? http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/
ingeborgdot Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 I tried it but to no avail. When I go through the icon I get a screen and I put in the password but it does not work. It is getting frustrating. What am I doing wrong?[/url]
ingeborgdot Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 It says a username and password are being requested at 192.etc. Then it says The site says:"l"
Michel Kohanim Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Hi ingeborgdot, Please note that the userid/password are case sensitive and the defaults are admin/admin. Would you be kind enough to try and reset your credentials: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... d/Password Please do keep us posted. With kind regards, Michel
ingeborgdot Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 I understand case sensitive. I have reset it many times. My network has several things on it and this is the only one that it has a hard time picking up. It may take 10 -15 minutes for it to recognize the isy on my net.
Sub-Routine Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Can you connect the ISY directly to the router? If that works we will have to figure out why it doesn't work through a switch. Rand
ingeborgdot Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 I moved to PLM to a different location and it works now. It is in a VERY inconvenient place at the moment but it works. I may try another location later. My question. When I got it started it has a list of different devices under a category under network and then my lighting. It has a name of people like Tristans playroom, Melissas room etc. When it started it also said that it could not locate all of those places. Is this normal or is this an isy that belonged to someone else?
Brian H Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 That doesn't sound correct for a new ISY99i setup.
Sub-Routine Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I'm glad you got it working. My Lighting should be empty, the ISY has been used. If you are going to keep it you should perform a Factory Reset on the ISY and the PLM. Rand
ingeborgdot Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 I DID NOT PAY for a used isy. I bought it from Smarthome. IF THEY think that I will pay that much for something used they can go someplace. I am now pretty mad about all this. No wonder it would not link up right away.
ingeborgdot Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 Now as I am going into it I have to click ok 45 times to get in because of a communication error. I am going to leave the info on there so I have proof when I contact Smarthome and chew on them a little. I want an exchange or a good amount off of this price.
ingeborgdot Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 They had flexpower on this for checking power usage. It sounds cool. How could I get something like this?
Brian H Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 That could also explain some of the Authorization Failed Messages. Possible it had a different password in it or as you thought. Lots of unfound modules scenes and locations. A field return should have been at least put in the Open Box area or returned to UDI for a test. Maybe it was returned a flaky or a changed my mind thing.
ingeborgdot Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 I don't care. It was returned and used. That does not make it right.
Brian H Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 If I sounded like it was right it was not. Errors do happen but I thought only I was the one that got them. I hope Smarthome will make it right for you.

New unit arrives: backup your config, reset, restore to the playroom if you like. Restore your config on the new device. If you get a new PLM you will also have to Restore PLM. You would have to find out if Flex Your Power is available from your electric supplier before it will do you any good. FYP is included in firmware 2.7.3+. Rand
ingeborgdot Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 Is there anything other than flex your power out there? To reset the PLM I just hold down the reset button, right? Smarthome will make it right for me or I will put up a stink. You don't sell used merchandise and claim it as new. That is a no no.
Michel Kohanim Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Hello ingeborgdot, Some utilities also provide Open Auto Demand Response solutions which ISY supports. Flex Your Power is CA only ... I totally agree ... you should have never been sent a used unit. Please do let us know if you need our assistance in getting it replaced. ingeborgdot Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 When I talk to my power company how do I ask them what I am actually wanting?
Michel Kohanim Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Hello, You need to ask if they offer any Demand Response programs. And, if so, what system do they use. With kind regards, Michel
