My PLM failed sonI made the decision to replace all the Insteon devices with ZWave. I added-my first four switches on Tuesday and all went fine and lights all work as expected. Today I added the remaining switches and when I went to add them to the ISY the add device box opened but an ISY notfound box opened also, although not selectable, and closes when I close the add device box. see included picture. I was able to add the devices but the lights all flash several times when being switched on, none of the switches installed Tuesday do this. All ZWave switches added are the same model.

Any ideas what is going on.

I was able to fix the flashing lites issue, seems some of my light bulbs didn’t like the ramp rate on the ultrapro switches I used. I found the parameter number that allows the switch to work in straight switch mode when operated on the wall, still allows dimming by the ISY. For anyone that is interested the parameter is 16 and the setting should be 1 (default is 0).

Still don’t know why I get the ISY nof found message though.

I am on the latest firmware and have loaded the latest start.jlp and cleared the jave clash. ISY is found and loads fine, it is just that not found message shows when I add a Zwave switch. The add Zwave loads right on tom of the ISY not found message and allows me to add the device just fine, and the not found message goes away when the wdd zwave box closes.

If you're using only Zwave devices and don't have a PLM attached to the ISY then you need to use this firmware which doesn't support a PLM. This will eliminate the error message.

ISY 994i ZW, Z, or ZS Series (Z-Wave/Zigbee and/or if you do NOT have a PLM)

Then you'll also need to clear your Java cache, including installed applications and then download the Iox Launcher.

That's a UI issue. I ran into that recently trying to add z-wave to the Polisy. I just chalked it up to java and active screen layering. It isn't an issue. At least doesn't appear to be an issue.

I didn't pay attention to if it suddenly said "not found" or not. But when I tried to add a z-wave device the finder window also appeared above the full admin console window, but the z-wave add dialogue was the active window. As soon as I closed that process the admin console became the active window and the finder window returned to the background (out of sight).

If you're able to add z-wave devices without problem then you're good to go. I don't know how to explain it other than possible conflict between Windows and Java forcing a different screen layer on top of another window when there's a pop-up from the active screen.

What is odd is being on the same network and getting that message. I normally only see "ISY not found" when I'm trying to connect while remote. Before you log into admin console next time does IoX Finder say "Not Found" or not?

I have done all that and as stated everything works fine other than the ISY Not found message. I am running the Zwave only version.

I think you maybe right you have described exactly what I am seeing. I am seriously considering picking up a Zwave card for Polisy and running on that.I have an original Polisy so I need to look into what is needed to update.

Thanks both of you for the replies.
