8 Button keypad linc status light question

Featured Replies

Posted

I have one of my 8 keypad buttons set as a controller for a deck light in a scene called "Deck Light".  I also have a Insteon dimmer wired to the deck light.  How do I make it so when I turn on the deck light through alexa or thr dimmer switch, the keypad also lights up?  The keypad will light up if I turn on the deck light from the 8 button keypad.

Thanks

Did you make a scene out of all of the players?

All the devices should included in the scene as Controllers.

Turn on the scene that includes the button.  Turning on the device directly won't control other members of the scene.

I do have both the dimmer switch and the button on the keypad, in a scene as a controller

Did you configure both controllers in the scene?

But are you turning on the SCENE with Alexa association (same for programs)?  Turning on one of the controllers via alexa/program will not turn on the scene.  The scene itself must be told to turn on.  the "Controller" designation only applies when the switch or button is operates locally.
