I have a 2240 remote that isn't performing entirely correctly. I'd like to put it into communications mode so that I can "write updates to device" and reassert its programming. The device's data sheet doesn't explain how to do that. I seem to remember that it's vulnerable to reprogramming right after it blinks its LED like crazy, but I don't remember how to get it into that state. Hope someone can tell me. Thanks.

I have never seen that feature but hope someone has.

If  you don't have the full manual. https://cache.insteon.com/documentation/2440-en.pdf

One thing I had with my 2413S PLM was that I had to force the 2440 to use a location not close enough to try use Insteon RF to the PLM. Had to use another dual band module to receive and send RF commands to the 2440. I put it into linking mode in another room and then accessed it with my ISY994i.
