Purchased home with Polisy and need help getting it on our network

We recently purchased a home and inherited Polisy. The previous owner briefly showed me the ISY portal so I have a very basic understanding. However, I can no longer access anything because the system does not recognize my network. What can I do to bring it online again?

Thanks in advance for the help.

First of all, are you able to access the device locally with the admin console?

Yes! I am able to login and access the device locally with the admin console. I have a backup from the seller-- what is the best way to implement it?

If you can access it locally, you probably don’t need the backup.

Did the owner give you his portal account, or did you set a new one?

Polisy should automatically connect to portal when powered on. In your portal account, under the ISY tab, you should see your Polisy uuid, the same that you see in the admin console. Do you?

If so, what’s the color of the round indicator after the uuid?

@whslec welcome to the forums! While @bmercier is great and helping you out already I want to ask something specifically just to make sure you're both going the right direction...

This would indicate that you can't get into Admin Console, but then you said...

So, what do you mean by it "does not recognize your network"?

The ISY/UDI Portal is: https://my.isy.io/index.htm

Once you're logged in there it should list your device and will have the UUID with the status next to it (like this):

If you mean that you don't have a device showing on your portal account then you need to set that up. Read this page of the wiki for the process (last section applies to adding the device to your portal account):

https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Installation_Instructions

Otherwise, since you're able to access the device with Admin Console you should be all set.

From here check out the Polisy User Guide on the wiki and skim the forums for burning topics you might have questions about. Good luck! Welcome to the crowd of UDI users and enthusiasts!
