Flashing Red ERR light.

Featured Replies

My ISY-99 stopped responding to commands last week. Finally got some time today to dig into it and noticed that the ERR light is flashing (but not the MEM light). I searched the forum and found that this means the filesystem is bad, likely a problem with the SD card.

The only troubleshooting idea I saw is to try to telnet to the ISY. Unfortunately, the device no longer shows up on my router's DHCP client table, so I have no address to telnet to.

Also, I saw that a power outage could cause this behavior (problem with shorting the PLM power supply), and we did have an outage last week. If this was the cause, does this mean the unit is toast? And is the PLM destroyed too?

Is there anything else I can try in order to connect to and update the ISY, or is it beyond hope?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I do apologize for the inconvenience.

The problem is Fie System related. Would you be kind enough to take the SD Card out and try inserting it back in. Please do ensure that you hear a click while you put the SD Card back in.

Also, if your firmware is 2.7.0, what you might want to do is to reboot ISY 4 times.

If all else fails, please do contact our tech support and we'll help you get your system back up and running.

With kind regards,

Michel

Michel,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried removing and re-inserting the SD card. No success. I also tried the 4x reboot with no luck. (I'm not sure what firmware version I was running, I know I did upgrade a few months ago, and it was not to the very newest. Is there a way I can check that if I cannot communicate with the ISY?).

I'll try getting in touch with tech support tomorrow.

Paul
