Multiple PLM's

Hi,

I have a 2nd PLM (don't ask why) and want to be able to use it by connecting it to a computer. Is there a way to have that PLM in sync with the one connected to ISY, so it will receive status changes of all devices?

To clear it up a bit; I don't want to use 2nd PLM to alter links in the devices, all of them are more or less configured so if i will need to alter them i will use ISY for it (and then manually resync the 2nd PLM.) The 2nd PLM will just be used to control the devices (and be able to receive notification when a device status changes, much like ISY currently does)

Thank you

Hi guy,

Unfortunately you cannot for a variety of reasons the most important of which is the total number of PLM links it requires to have both of them synch with one another.

If you just want to be notified of the changes on your computer, you can easily use the freely available JSDK which publishes all the changes to your computer instantaneously.

With kind regards,

Michel

Hi Michel,

That should just double the number of links. I am sure that my set up should still be without limits of ISY Pro :)

And I do have a so far usless spare PLM...

As you have mention JSDK, does it support reading/creating links?

Can I just read all the links from PLM into a file and then reset the PLM and write it back with each link duplicated with 2nd PLM ID to both PLMs? Or am i just saying nonsense?

Thank you.

The problem is not the number of nodes in ISY but the total number of links in the PLM which is doubled.

You can do almost anything you can do with the Admin Console through the JSDK. You can add/remove/move devices and change the scene settings. You can get status updates when a device status changes.

You cannot copy links because ISY is going to think it's a PLM replacement and then replace all the links to the original PLM with the new one. I really do not think you would want to take this route.

If you can explain in a little more detail what you want accomplished (above and beyond making use of something that might be useless otherwise), I might have better suggestions!

With kind regards,

Michel

Thank you.
