Steve Andrews
I recently purchased an eisy and I am working on migrating from an isy. If I write a simple program which uses a button press to turn on a scene there is a considerable delay before the scene is activated. If I right click and use the run then option from the program details the scene changes immediately. The summary page shows that only that program ran. Any ideas? Link to comment
Techman
The status of a scene doesn't display as a scene is unable to report status. You can right click on a scene, then run DIAGNOSTICS | SCENE TEST, which will show any issues within the scene. Copy and post the results of the test. Link to comment
Steve Andrews
Thanks for the reply. Here is the scene test. All devices fail. I tried restoring each device but no change.
----- Great Room All Lights On Test Results -----

[Failed] Patio Door C (33 E 9 3)

[Failed] Foyer Front Door H (29 43 55 8)

[Failed] Patio Door D (33 E 9 4)

[Failed] Patio Door E (33 E 9 5)

[Failed] Ceiling Can Lights (1D C4 8D 1)

[Failed] Patio Door F (33 E 9 6)

[Failed] East Wall C (43 9D 8 3)

[Failed] LampLinc 7 Floor Lamp (2E 6C DE 1)

[Failed] Kitchen South Wall A (41 DE A6 1)

[Failed] Kitchen South Wall C (41 DE A6 3)

[Failed] Fan Linc Light (23 F 95 1)

[Failed] Foyer Front Door A (29 43 55 1)

[Failed] Wall Sconces (1D CC DC 1)

[Failed] Reading Light (1A E6 9A 1)

[Failed] Ceiling Fan Lights (29 4E 96 1)

----- Great Room All Lights On Test Results -----
Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 33 E 9 3 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 33 E 9 4 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 33 E 9 5 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 33 E 9 6 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 29 43 55 1 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 1D C4 8D 1 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 29 43 55 8 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 1A E6 9A 1 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 1D CC DC 1 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 29 4E 96 1 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 23 F 95 1 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 43 9D 8 3 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 2E 6C DE 1 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 41 DE A6 1 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [LINK-INFO ] Link for responder 41 DE A6 3 not found Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.23 CF 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00) Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:48 : [Std MH ] Unexpected Ack imCmd=62 cmd1=LTOFFRR 0x13 Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:49 : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 21 4F 52 0F 0D 00 Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:49 : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 21.4F.52 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:58 : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 21 4F 52 0F 0D 00 Wed 12/27/2023 16:22:58 : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 21.4F.52 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Wed 12/27/2023 16:23:04 : [ Time] 16:23:04 0(0) Wed 12/27/2023 16:23:34 : [ Time] 16:23:34 0(0) Link to comment
Techman
The problem appears to be with the scene itself, the next step would be to delete the scene and then recreate it. During migtation there were issues with some scenes not migrating properly, that's most likely is the case with your scene. Link to comment
Steve Andrews
Thank you. I will try recreating the scene but I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that. I have over a hundred scenes. I also ordered another PLM. The one I'm using is old (v.99). Link to comment
Techman
You should order the USB PLM. During migration not all scenes were affected. You should run the scene diagnostics on all your scenes to verify them. Link to comment
Steve Andrews
Yes, I ordered the USB. I have a brand new serial but I decided to go with the USB to simplify things. The one I'm using is also USB but it's not dual mode and I was difficult to get the eisy to recognize it. I used SSH to look at the /dev directory and it showed up there but for some reason the admin console PLM status showed it as disconnected. I used a different USB port and it started working. I don't trust it so I'll go ahead and replace it before I get too carried away. Everything works eventually so I can live with it for a few days. Thanks again for your help. Link to comment

Techman
The EISY doesn't have a serial port only USB ports for the PLM. In order to use the serial PLM you need a serial to USB converter. A USB PLM to USB connector on the EISY makes for a cleaner interface with less to go wrong. Link to comment
Steve Andrews
I got my new PLM and installed it. no difference. Out of frustration a created a scene with only one responder and no controller. I disabled all programs except for one that looked at the status of one button on an 8 button dimmer. It still takes as long as 5 seconds to respond. If I turn the scene on from the admin console with either the run then option in program details or the on button on the scene page it is almost instantaneous. There is something going on inside of the eisy if I use logic to trigger a scene. Any other ideas? Link to comment
Techman
Scenes have a slight delay as compared to programs, but it shouldn't take 5 seconds. Run a scene diagnostic to see if there are any issues Link to comment
Steve Andrews
There are no issues with the scene. There is only one responder. I only have problems when it is triggered by a program. I can watch the program instantly change to true but the scene doesn't change for several seconds. I connected to the eisy with SSH and used top to check if a process was using a lot of resources but that isn't the case either. Link to comment
paulbates
It's probably time to open a ticket with UDI. You see the program flip green, and the scene and "run then" work instantly, something else is wrong. Link to comment
