stupalermo Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I swapped some insteon dimmers with on-off switches and now I have a device that when I try to add it to the EISY it says it is "already added." But I can't figure out how to remove it as it is not listed as any of my devices. I did a topology export so I could search by the address and it's not there. 4c.37.a5 not that it matters. Help???
xlurkr Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Don't shoot the messenger if I'm wrong, but C's and 0's look alike, as do 3's and 5's if you're in a hurry, tired, or frustrated. None are as bad as B's and 8's or D's and 0's. Hopefully some will respond soon with something more useful. -Tom 1
Techman Posted January 17 Posted January 17 @stupalermo When you add a device it will usually be at either the top or bottom of your device tree. When you say you "swapped" devices, exactly how did you swap them?
stupalermo Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 I used the “replace device” and it worked. But that may have caused the issue.
Techman Posted January 17 Posted January 17 There lies your problem.. You can only use "replace with" when you're replacing like devices. You can't use it to replace a dimmer with an on off switch. It's probably best to delete the device and start over. 2
stupalermo Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Turns out the were both dimmers. I didn't realize until I took them all off the walls. I can't FIND the device to delete it. That's my issue. Anyone know how to remove a device by ID number when I don't know what it is named?
Techman Posted January 17 Posted January 17 In the admin console, click on the network folder in the device tree. You can sort the address column by clicking on the "address". The name associated with the address will be in the column to the left.
