cwagner2401 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Content IDs 42 and under send fine Test always works Running ver 5.3.4 Any insights appreciated! Thanks.
cwagner2401 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 More info... I looked at the error log and for the IDs over 42 I get mail server error. Mon 2024/03/18 11:03:34 AM System -50001 -19 This makes no sense to me because the IDs 42 and under are working fine. Same mail server. Hoping I'm missing something simple. Thanks again.
cwagner2401 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Problem Solved! The customization content I'm adding that have IDs over 42 just so happen to have no body - just subject. I added body text and is working now. 1
Geddy Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Glad you got it sorted out. Was about to reply... 8 minutes ago, cwagner2401 said: Mon 2024/03/18 11:03:34 AM System -50001 -19 This is an SMTP error specifically "SMTP_WRITE_FAILED". Are you sending a bunch of messages all at once? https://wiki.universal-devices.com/ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Errors_And_Error_Messages What are you using as your SMTP server? If using the UD default option and sending a lot of email at once you might be better served with a Gmail setup. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/ISY994:Configure_Mail_Server_Settings#Configuring_gmail_Account
cwagner2401 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Thanks Geddy. Do appreciate your reply. Just another thing I learned... AT&T SMS doesn't seem to forward back-to-back (within the same minute) messages. I found that putting a 2 minute delay in between messages that I know might be back-to-back (failure/restored msgs primarily), solves that limitation.

So while you might think you're good with a 2 min delay it could be the carrier limiting the delivery all together. It's been an ongoing issue on the forums for the last several years and only seems to be getting worse by some posts I've seen. (just search: "at&t limiting email to sms" and see all the issues popping up) There's no "good" way around it with only an ISY994, but one suggestion has been using a dedicated email client on a mobile device (like Spark email app) and only have the ISY email account checked on there to get alerts through that app. I believe there's a way to use UD Mobile and network resources to send alerts, but I've never attempted to do that so would just refer you to the wiki to read more about UD Mobile.
cwagner2401 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Thanks again. Good news is (so far) the two houses I have that are on 994s have not missed any notifications (that I'm aware of). I'll keep a sharper eye out.
