terrys
I spent the day today installing ToggleLinc wall switch Insteon devices (2466DW with Windows XP) for my ISY99i/pro. All of my Lamp modules work just fine. The first two ToggleLinc devices installed smoothly today and show up in my devices and tree. The third one works manually (at the wall switch) and I created the device in a program with the others. In the course of the installation, I had to shut the electricity off several times (ToggleLinc is hard wired). There were several error messages on the Admin Console screen that I didn't understand, but attributed to the power going off and on. Now when I open Administrative Console, the curser turns to an hour glass, stays that way, and a pane at the bottom of the screen says "System Busy". The Admin Console screen never fully populates. A computer re-boot was no help. Any ideas? Terry
sanders2222
I had a lock up problem with v. 2.7.14. Sometimes when I would start up the browser and console, I would get the hourglass, and the console would never finish loading, no matter how long I waited. My work around was to close the Console window (not browser) and immediately log back on. Occassionally, I had to do this more than once before the Admin Console would load and open correctly. Since I upgraded to v. 2.7.15, I have not seen this problem reoccur. BTW: my O.S. is Vista. Hope this helps.
Michel Kohanim
Hello Terry, Can you get to the HTML page? If so, can you turn on/off any of your devices using the HTML interface? If not, then I would suspect corrupted configuration. If you can control devices from the HTML page, then I suspect either Java cache issue or firewall issue. If you have not yet used our website URL, try http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp ... if you have been using the website URL, then try http://your.isy.ip.address . Please do keep us posted. With kind regards, Michel
terrys
Thank you both. Sanders2222: I am running v2.7.15. Closing the Console window and re-opening it has no affect. Michel: Yes, I can control the devices from the white page that first appears with headings "Devices" "Scenes" Programs", etc (Is that the HTML page you refer to?). Clicking on Devices shows a list of the devices with simple ON and OFF buttons. All of those listed devices are responding to ON and OFF commands from there. I have also cleared my Java Cache. As for the firewall, nothing in the firewall is changed since creating my very first devices last week, including the two new ToggleLincs I put in yesterday. Thanks, Terry
terrys
Michel, I also tried the other two website URLs you suggested. Both get me to the My Lighting screen, then to the blue GUI Admin Console screen but it never populates. Just and endless hourglass cursor. Are all my device and program files lost? Is there somewher I can check to see? I had not yet done a backup. Terry
Michel Kohanim
Hi Terry, Please fill out a support ticket here. We'll try to get back to you today to log in to your system and figure out what's going on. With kind regards, Michel
terrys
Hi Michel, On Sunday I filled out a Support Ticket for this issue and had heard nothing since. Yesterday (Wednesday) I manually turned all my lights on early evening via the ON-OFF commands in the My Lighting screen (which has always continued to work). I left for a while and while I was out we had a line of strong thunderstorms move through here. When I got home the flashing clocks on the kitchen appliances alerted me that the house had lost electrical power while I was away. Later, about 10PM last evening I suddenly noticed that my Inteon programs appeard to be running again. The lights began to dim as per the scheduled programs I had created last week. From that point on, all the lights functioned normally and were off this morning when I got up. WONDERFUL. As I stated in my earlier post, my Admin Console began to lock up last Saturday and I mentioned that I had shut power off to the house several times that day while installing ToggleLinc wall swtiches. That would have included the power to the PLM and ISY99. Unless you folks waved a magic wand over the server last night, I'm thinking that it might be possible that the loss of power during the storm, and subsequent restoration of power, could have "refreshed" my Admin Console files. It now opens again. All my network tree, devices and programs were back to normal this morning. Any history of that? Terry
Michel Kohanim
Hello Terry, I am so very glad things are working again and we have been known to posses magic wands alas not for this case What worries me are two things: 1. I cannot find the support ticket ... this should have never happened and I do apologize for not getting back to you. If possible, would you be kind enough to send the ticket number to support@universal-devices.com ... I must figure out what happened here 2. The Admin Console locking up is most probably due Java cache being refreshed especially if you use the /admin.jnlp Please do keep us posted. terrys
Michel, I got home tonight and checked, and, apparently, I never received a Support Ticket number, so my request probably did not go through on Sunday. Not having done a Support Ticket with UDI before I didn't know to expect one so was not really too concerned. However, your technical support since my first day with the ISY-99i has been so exceptional, I probably should have realized something was amiss by Wednesday. But, all is well now, regardless of how it got there. Thanks for the fine support. Regards, Terry
Michel Kohanim
Hi Terry, Thanks so very much for the update. I do apologize again; it must have been a system glitch (which still bothers me!). With kind regards, Michel
