cwhite951 Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 (edited) I have been running my setup for close to a decade and suddenly I'm having an 'isy off line' issue. Blue power light only. reboot the isy and I get a bunch of blue lights for a short while, brief connection and then nothing (just blue power light). no communications. Its been so long since i set it up my memory is a little rusty - any advice? Edited November 21, 2024 by cwhite951 spell
Geddy Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 @cwhite951 Could be some of several issues. More than likely it's a power supply issue, but the blue light should be right. Is it "super bright"? Please review this wiki portion for the meaning of the front lights: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/Main_Page#Front_Panel_LEDs/Lights Make sure all cables are securely connected to the ISY994. Be sure the PLM is powered on and stable (steady green light) before plugging in the ISY994. Have you changed anything on your network recently? (i.e. new router?) Have you attempted to access the admin console? (Make sure you're using IoX Launcher) It doesn't matter (yet), but what version Firmware (and UI) are you on? If you're able to access admin console go to Help -> About to confirm Firmware and UI match.
cwhite951 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 looks ,like PLM is the issue, green light is on but nobody is home!
cwhite951 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 installed my back up PLM but it wont take the restore PLM command - 'failed resetting the PLM'
cwhite951 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 tried 2 PLMs and neither is detected under PLM info/status. both have green lights
Brian H Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Try a power supply. When they fail all kinds of strange things happen. I have had at least one on an ISY26, ISY99i and now a ISY994i. Since you tried more than one PLM. Try a new cable between the PLM and your ISY994i. They have on occasion gotten flaky. 1
cwhite951 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 i did swap the power supply, no change
cwhite951 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 back to Geddy's Qs - no changes to router or any other part of the system. The admin console says it cannot connect to any device. Firmware/UI is 4.8.0
cwhite951 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 so it looks like an issue with the communications coming out of the ISY. tried 2 different PLM and two cables and still get the same inability for the ISY to see the PLM. cant restore the spare PLM from the ISY via admin console. is this a known failure point for hte ISY? any other tests?
Techman Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Remove power from the ISY, then remove the SD Card and clean its contacts with a soft eraser. The contacts can oxidize over time and create issues. 1
