Posted January 30Jan 30 Lately a number of my Insteon devices will not react to commands. I have to activate them numerous times before the lights go on or off. I'm wondering if restoring the PLM would help? All my devices are powered, so I assume i just hit restore and see what happens. If this isn't the problem, do you have any idea what should try. I do have a Insteon Extender in the line and it shows sold green. I have tried to move it, but that didn't help.
January 30Jan 30 A first step would be to pick a problematic device, right click and then restore device. Repeat on several more problematic devices. How did that go? It sounds like your PLM is old... How old? There's a white sticker on the back with 4 numbers, what are they? Old PLMs can slowly die and need replacing. Restores can seem like they're helping, but if the PLM is old, it's just a matter of time and you should plan on replacing it before things get worse. Edited January 30Jan 30 by paulbates
January 30Jan 30 The PLM was manufactured in July 2017. The current PLMs have improved hardware and firmware.
January 30Jan 30 Did you try 'restore device' to a few of the problem devices? If you look at tools/diagnostics/plm links, how many links are there in the list?
February 12Feb 12 Author Techman... I recieved a new PLM yesterday. To install it, do i just plug it into the EISY, power it up and restore the PLM from within the UD portal software? I don't want o lose everything. I have afair amount of devices.

I suggest you do a factory reset first, just to be certain it is clean, but otherwise yes. Be sure to NOT hit delete PLM.
