Rapidway Posted yesterday at 02:34 PM Posted yesterday at 02:34 PM Here is a helpful solution that I set up for my newer type chamberlain MyQ overhead garage door opener. The way I understand is the I/O Linc is analog and the MyQ opener is digital so basically that’s why you can’t open your door connecting your Insteon device & UD Mobile / Geofence. The attached photos will explain everything. Keep in mind you could run a long speaker wire to mount the wireless remote near the back door of your garage or any extended area from the Insteon Device. I hope this helps everyone…! 1 Quote
elvisimprsntr Posted yesterday at 03:38 PM Posted yesterday at 03:38 PM (edited) @Rapidway Excellent job. Just be careful what you use to control a GD. In my experience, the IO Linc reliability was not sufficient to connect to a GD controller, especially with a wall transformer right next to the IO Linc Edited yesterday at 08:52 PM by elvisimprsntr 1 1 Quote
slimypizza Posted yesterday at 04:23 PM Posted yesterday at 04:23 PM Nice. I did exactly the same thing last year to interface my I/O Linc when I had to replace my old chamberlin opener. I was not happy to realize they’d changed their opener system. I have my hacked remote opener attached to the garage opener support bracket. 2 Quote
larryllix Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I had two Chamberlain GD openers. The first one gave my ISY system intermittent problems for ten year that I thought was my house electrical inverter. When I got the second GD opener with MyQ and battery backup, it crippled my whole Insteon system from electrical and RF noise. Two FilterLincs cured that problem. 1 Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I added a dual band lamplinc in the garage to help with signal reliability. Has been working fine. 1 Quote
Brian H Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Adding a dual band module. In the pass trough outlet is a good move as the I/OLinc is power line only. Adding the pass through module was recommended by Smarthome and now Insteon company. Quote
