toptierweb Posted Thursday at 03:16 AM Posted Thursday at 03:16 AM I have some i3 keypad and am able to make scenes and everything but some of them came from the factory where the bottom button is the actual controlled circuit. and some came with the top button as the circuit. Is there a way to change that? Also some of them seem to be able to ramp the lights on and off and some dont. I have set the mode of the main switch to dimmer and set the ramp rate. the same way I do everything else. Am I missing something? Quote
Solution Andy P Posted Thursday at 10:01 AM Solution Posted Thursday at 10:01 AM Every i3 keypad I get from the factory is incorrectly set with the bottom as the load. I posted previously my interaction with Insteon on this topic and they added a warning to their product page that says this as well. Anyway, you need to factory reset the device to get the load back to the top button. Read the information at these two links. i3 Keypad Setup IMPORTANT: We’ve discovered an issue where some i3 devices may have shipped with a configuration issue that impacts performance and reliability. To ensure best performance and reliability, factory reset before using. How to manually configure Insteon devices Wall Switches and Keypads Air gap the switch by pulling out the set button, LED will turn off Press and hold set button all the way in and hold down. You will hear a long beep. Keep the set button held down until the end of the beep, then release. Switch will double beep. Then, LED and connected fixture will turn on to indicate factory reset is completed. Quote

Am I missing something? Are you saying you've set a ramp rate in IoX and it's not reacting as you would expect or the switch arrived unable to ramp as expected? I wonder if that's an issue with the switch and maybe Insteon needs to be involved to troubleshoot. If on IoX then set the ramp rate and click "Ramp Rate" button next to it. That might be like the backlight bug that's been around since firmware 5.x came out that you have to click the button for it to be written to the device. There is a button at the bottom "Write Changes", but that's not the same. Might be for ramp rate as well as "Backlight" (and maybe other settings). Once you click the "Ramp Rate" you'll notice a "writing" briefly appear on the device. Quote
