jwf Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I don't have a convenient place for a network hookup for my ISY99i and was wondering if anyone has had luck with Wifi bridges or WAPS from D-Link or some other option. I also wonder about ethernet over powerline but I am not sure how the ethernet traffic and my insteon traffic would get along together.
Michel Kohanim Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Hello jwf, I can tell you that HomePlug (ethernet over powerline) has been tested and there does not seem to be any interference with INSTEON. With kind regards, Michel
jwf Posted July 4, 2010 Author Posted July 4, 2010 Thanks. That is good to know. I wonder if anyone else has tried wifi as well.
k7zpj Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Hi JFW, I am using a D-link DAP-1522 Wifi bridge to connect the ISY-99 to my house Wifi network. Regards, Bruce -- K7ZPJ
jwf Posted July 9, 2010 Author Posted July 9, 2010 Thanks k7zpj. That is exactly the WAP I was thinking about getting since I have a D-Link DIR-655 router now and wanted to stay with D-link. I also thought this would work well to connect my Dish receiver to as well since that is where my ISY 99i sits, in the A.V rack.
