I have been a UDI/ISY user and supporter for... I don't know how long. Started with the ISY 994 so maybe at least 10 years ago and upgraded to the eISY about 6 months after it came out.

Since we are away from home, a lot, I purchased some of the inexpensive Insteon Leak Sensors, (2852-222), and installed them under my kitchen sink as that seems to be the place where I have had most of my problems with drips and an occasional minor leak. (Did I mention I hate plumbing). We also placed mats under the sink that will hold about an inch of water just in case. Lastly, I used the "recipes" (code) in the pdf version of the ISY cookbook for these leak sensors. The code and sensors were tested and it worked. And boy did it!

Today I was happily trying to find the end of the Internet when the siren in my phone went off, (thank you for UD Mobile and Notifications), which alerted me that a leak was detected. OH MY GOSH. In the moment it took me to get up and get to the kitchen, that flood mat was filled up! Something popped in one of my RO filter seats. After re-seating my filters and checking the water, the water pressure was beyond amazing. A call to the city was made and I was told that they were flushing water lines in our area which can cause a rise in water pressure and boy did it rise!

Had we not known about this leak or not been at home, some pretty extensive damage could have occurred. We are fortunate that we have great neighbors and friends who we could call and who would check and shut the water off if we weren't home. Flood averted.

THANK-YOU to UDI and Insteon!

John
