pooderbill Posted yesterday at 01:24 AM Posted yesterday at 01:24 AM Replaced the PC and copied the old files. But starting the start.jnlp returned a faulty PLM message. (It was 6-7 years old) Got a new replacement and followed these instructions: Remove power from the ISY Remove power from the PLM Remove the cable from the old PLM and plug it into the new PLM Plug the new PLM into the power outlet Wait about 15 seconds then power up the ISY After the ISY reboots, click on Restore Modem from File tab Clicking the Restore Modem didn't do anything (no confirmation, no change) All I have is an ISY navigation icon. Double clicking the ISY icon does nothing. I thought the programs are stored in the ISY. All devices are either light dimmers or powerline dimmer modules. There's about 20 total. I do have a 5 year old backup for the ISY but I don't want to risk losing everything. It would several days discover the devices and recreate the 8 programs for the lights. Quote
paulbates Posted yesterday at 11:22 AM Posted yesterday at 11:22 AM It looks like 2 things were going on at the same time? Replacing a computer that's used to access iox/admin console Replacing PLM. I'd recommend dealing with one of these at a time, and start with 1 I'm not familiar with copying files as part of moving to a new PC, the necessary files and data are in the ISY9994 Uninstall java Reinstall java Clear java cache Download the latest launcher Review this post for specifics Once you can access iox/admin console on the new PC (1), then we'll move on the PLM (2) Quote
Techman Posted yesterday at 02:16 PM Posted yesterday at 02:16 PM @pooderbill All your programs, device info and ISY firmware are stored on the removable SD card in your ISY. After you've cleared your java cache, download the IoX launcher from here, which will place a new launcher icon on your desktop: https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Once you get everything working be sure to make an ISY backup. Also verify that you have the PLM plugged into port A in your ISY. Quote
pooderbill Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago I completed both suggestions exactly as outlined. The launcher starts normally, finds the ISY and displays the expected interface. Except it is empty, no devices or programs. I haven't tried Restore Devices yet. I'm concerned that it might erase the device IDs on the SD card. I've seen posts saying that the new PLM will not be recognized by the dimmer modules and that they have to be paired manually. I don't have a list of the IDs and most of the dimmer modules will require scaffolding to reach them. What are the steps needed needed to get the new PLM synced with the devices? Quote
Techman Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Try rebooting the ISY again Does your ISY show the PLM as connected? (Tools | Diagnostics | PLM info/status) Under Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Links Table, what is your PLM link count? Try doing a restore device on one of your switches. It will write the link tables stored on your SD card to the switch. A restore device does not change anything on the SD card. Quote
