Access One Button On a 8 Button Keypad

Haven't messed with any of my Insteon stuff in about a hundred 😁 years - it just always works!

I have an 8-button keypad in my garage. Each one of them is programmed to multiple devices throughout the house, which were all setup ages ago in the Admin Console on my PC. I now would like to access one of the buttons with my MobiLinc Pro on iOS (iPhone 15). I added one of the buttons to the Devices Dashboard in MobiLinc, but when I bring up that device, it shows as Status Only Device. Is there any way around that? Some way to directly access that button as on/off in MobiLinc?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but again, I haven't make any changes in my Insteon/MobiLinc setup in a very long time! Hopefully I'm just a bit rusty and forgot 99% of what I used to know

Thanks

I'm not familiar with Mobilelinc but it sounds like the button was added as a responder instead of a controller. Try deleting the button from Mobilelinc and then adding it back. as a controller

Secondary buttons on a keypad cannot be controlled directly.  If you want the ability to turn on/off a single button (not the load-controller) you must first put the button into a scene, thn control the scene in mobilinc.  (This is not unique to Mobilinc…it is the nature of keypadlincs.)

Thank you sir! I knew there had to be some way to do this.

@oberkc Got everything setup, just one annoying issue remains.

On the admin console, I created a new scene. To that, added a few switches and a couple scenes already on the keypad. Then added the new scene to the MobiLinc dashboard. With everything turned on, brought up MobiLinc dashboard and hit the new scene. Everything went off as expected, but the lights on the existing keypad stayed on. This issue sounds familiar but my searches here are not finding anything.

Does this sound familiar?

When you “hit” the new scene, did you mean turn it “on”?  What is “existing keypad” and why did you expect it to urn off?

If I may speculate, perhaps you are relying onutually exclusive relationships.  Be aware that mutually exclusive relationships are only enforced when keypad buttons are controlled directly.  If controlled via a scene they will not be enforced.

If you want a device (such as a keypad button) to turn off in response to turning ON a scene, you must incude that device in the scene and set the responder level to zero.
