k.root Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I am adding my very first Zwave device. So I may not be doing something correct. Thank you in advance for your assistance. I have an EISY running 5.9.1 and the USB zmatter. The Insteon devices work fine. I’ve tried several ways and no matter what I am never prompted for the device pin. It also took several tries to figure out how to get the device in pairing mode. At one point it was there as zy002… then it disappeared. Got it back in now as zy003… however it says S2 AUTH UnAuth. When it was in as zy002… it said the same thing. It adds multiple devices all starting with zy003… they all say the S2 AUTH message and contain no data. at one point I turned off S2 in IoX to no avail that may have been when it disappeared. Can’t remember as I’ve tried so many things and watched so many videos. Unfortunately none of them were for the EISY so just gave me insight to how the process works on some controllers. I’ve tried from my iPhone in the UD mobile app the smart add scan the QR code. I’ve tried from my iPhone on the UD mobile app the regular add. I’ve tried add from the IoX. If I can reset the Zwave network and start all over I am okay with that and guidance to the correct way to do it. if I can edit a config file to enter the DSK pin I’m okay with that too. Again with guidance how to do it. Providing that’s even an option with S2 security. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Quote
Techman Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Did you select the S2 security option in the eisy when you included/installed the device, otherwise it may install as S0 which is why it didn't ask for a pin. Each time you add a zwave device the eisy device id will increment by one number, i.e. zy002, zy003, etc. The SMCO410 will install several nodes, one for smoke, battery level, CO2, etc. When you first add the device the nodes in the eisy may be blank until you press the test button on the detector eisy config files cannot be edited. Javi Posted August 12 Posted August 12 The Z-Wave device may need to be factory reset. Then add using the QR Code which will automatically configure with security. The device may need to be close to the Z-Wave dongle during commissioning. Also some devices need the longer timeouts, see Quote
wuench Posted August 13 Posted August 13 (edited) I just got it working but it took a few tries. For reference this is battery powered, there is no reset, no way to remove the battery etc. I think it just does stay alive long enough in discovery for the EISY to get all the info. So keep trying and discover it while standing next to the EISY antenna. Here are the steps I followed: ----------------------- Add Process ----------------------- Take the alarm down and stand next to the EISY Add via QR Code in App Show Progress Hold Button on device until you hear 1 beep, alarm will sound You should see an Added device message in progress Wait for it to Finish If prompted allow the app to synchronize which may take a couple of mins I only had one ZWave Notify Device on first try. If you don't see all the devices, remove and retry the add process. ----------------------- Remove Process ----------------------- Remove via QR Code in App Show Progress Hold button on device until you hear 1 beep, alarms will sound Wait for it to say Finished Sync if prompted I now see the following devices: Most of the values are blank though....
