Got a new phone? Still use Mobilinc (Geofence)? Tip!

Yes, I still use Moblinc Pro on my iPhone. I just got a new phone and didn't move the settings from old to new, but most things were there after the phone updated (restored from iCloud backup). One thing I have run is a location trigger (geofence) that I set up ages ago and just haven't taken the time to move to UD Mobile. (If it ain't broke don't fix it, right?)

If you're in a similar situation and use location triggers the best way to change this is to use the local connection to the eisy (I'm on 5.9.1 as of the time of this post). This is the only way I found that it will actually send the new variable to the eisy. I usually use the UD Portal access however that would always fail when trying to set the (new) variable. Locally it worked right away. I then updated my programs to use the new variable and everything is happy again. (I remember having to do this a few years ago when I got my last phone)

Nothing against UD Mobile, but I just like how comfortable Mobilinc looks and works (for me) that I've never taken the time to fully setup UD Mobile. I so rarely use an app since I believe that if this is home "automation" then why are apps needed? If programs and other triggers are setup to automate the house then apps shouldn't be necessary. It's what's inside the apps that help trigger things to work and my setup works just fine for me.
