paulw Posted September 24 Posted September 24 (edited) Unit was powered down to rearrange location, same router and network. After powerup never appears in DHCP table. Tried shutting down by 6 button taps, nothing. Hold button will force a shut down, removed power waited a couple of minutes powered up, waited few minutes nothing in DHCP table. As a long shot tried a different network cable. This is a unit which has been functioning fine for years. Any thoughts? Edited September 24 by paulw Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted September 24 Posted September 24 You might need to hook up a hdmi monitor and keyboard, and see how it comes up. Have you tried reconnecting it back where it was to see what happens? Quote
paulw Posted September 24 Author Posted September 24 It is back where it came from, same everything just a different location on shelf. Quote
Techman Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Is the network led on the back of the eisy lit? It sounds like an ethernet cable issue. Try removing power from the eisy for about 30 seconds Quote
paulw Posted September 24 Author Posted September 24 Yes led on eisy and router lit, I also replaced the cable no difference. I have powered down and forced a restart several times, no joy. The only thing I have not done is a factory reset. Quote

Yes, everything the same. I did do a reset, no joy. Hooked up a monitor as see what appears to be a boot and a request to login which would only take the default which makes me think the reset worked. Backed out at that point. I did open a support ticket this AM. Quote
Techman Posted September 24 Posted September 24 @paulw Once you're up and running could you post the steps you took to get it resolved. Quote
Solution paulw Posted Wednesday at 10:01 PM Author Solution Posted Wednesday at 10:01 PM (edited) I have no answer as to why my eisy stopped obtaining an IP address. The final fix was to obtain a 6.0 dongle and updating the eisy, cleared Java cache. After which I had to login with https://eisy.local.8443/desc using admin/admin. Then I was able to restore a backup done with version 5.8.4. After that all is well! Edited Wednesday at 10:04 PM by paulw 1 Quote
