Insteon 8W LED bulb 2672-222 odd behavior on "Query"

Featured Replies

I have 3 Insteon 8W LED bulbs, all purchased approximately the same year, all with v48 hardware/software revision, and all with identical setup (as far as I can tell). One of the three bulbs exhibits anomalous behavior, in that if it is OFF and I issue the "Query" command (either from the Admin Console interface, programmatically (via Set Query Action), or through the UD Mobile app, it turns on. Nothing shows in the Event Log other than the fact that the light turns on, ie. no cause is shown. The other two bulbs don't exhibit this unexpected behavior.

This is by no means a game-changing problem - I just would like to know if anyone else has run into this; also if anyone has any suggestions as to what might be happening here and how I might diagnose & possibly fix it I would be grateful for your suggestions & insights.

It's been a long time since I've worked with one of those... But a general fix is, factory reset it and restore device. Insteon things that run for a long time sometimes need a kick in the side

The Insteon LED Bulb automatically enters linking mode every time it is powered on, it's possible to accidentally link a device to the LED Bulb in the brief period of time that the Bulb is in linking mode.

Because the LED Bulb lacks a set button, there is no manual way to factory reset the LED Bulb.

You can try removing the bulb from the socket, replacing it and then doing a restore device

It's also possible that the electronics in the bulb have failed
