sfhutchi Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 I have a scene: Very Slow Master Bath Light - One responder (Master Bath Light) - 80% at 9 minutes When I call this scene it goes to 80% at what appears to be the local ramp rate (or a few seconds). I deleted this scene and recreated... and get the same thing. I had this scene working with a different switch in the past. I have since changed out the switch and now can't get the scene to work. Any ideas?
LeeG Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 What type switch are you using. I don't think the ICON dimmers have the same ramp rate capability as a SwitchLinc dimmer.
Sub-Routine Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 You want to be sure that when you select the controlling switch for the scene that it has the level and rate that you want. You can use Copy Scene Attributes... or you can select a different level and rate for each controller. Rand
sfhutchi Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 it is a Switchlinc . The scene is called directly from a program. I just tried it with an 8 minute ramp and it seems to work. I'll keep testing because it isn't clear why 9 minutes won't work.
Sub-Routine Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Smarthome deleted the 9 minute ramp rate on some switches. When 9 minutes is selected it uses 0.1 seconds. Rand it is a Switchlinc . sfhutchi Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 Smarthome deleted the 9 minute ramp rate on some switches. When 9 minutes is selected it uses 0.1 seconds. That is interesting. If that is the case, it seems that some logic should be built into ISY to handle this (not allow 9 minute ramp rate on these switches).
Sub-Routine Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Yes, we agree. But since you and I seem to be the only people to use the 9 minute rate it is of low priority. In those cases would it be appropriate to specify the 8 minute rate? Rand
sfhutchi Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 But since you and I seem to be the only people to use the 9 minute rate it is of low priority. That is interesting. I have been using this for years. It works great for sunrise type scenarios in a bedroom or a bathroom. Actually it would be nice to even go longer. I have a morning scene in a bathroom where I start at 20%, then go to a 9 minute ramp from there. Worked very well until I had to replace a broken Switchlinc. I guess the 1 minute won't kill me, but it is noticeably quicker. When 9 minutes is selected it uses 0.1 seconds. Yes. I think that this would be an appropriate solution for now. At least you don't get thrown for a loop like I did when the '9 minute' ramp setting seems to be written to the device, but you then see the opposite.
