theedudenator Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 When I got to My Lighting I can turn lights on/off. When I go to administrator and run a program, it does nothing. Any thoughts?
Mark Sanctuary Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Are you getting any errors when you enter the admin window? Can you control the individual device used in the program from the admin window? What does the program look like? Thanks,
LeeG Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Individual device control is done with Insteon Direct commands which do not require link records. Are the Programs that do not function controlling Scenes? If so it sounds like the new PLM did not get the link records restored or the devices that are part of the Scene did not get updated with the new PLM Insteon address. Either condition will prevent Scenes from functioning. If the Program is controlling an individual device rather than a Scene there should be no difference between running the Program and the commands issued through My Lighting. The Event Viewer at Change Level 3 will show what commands are being issued by the Program and what if any device response is received.
Sub-Routine Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 dudenator, After replacing a PLM you need to run the Restore_Modem from the File menu. This should replace all the links in your devices with links to the new PLM. Rand

theedudenator Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 I just did a restore PLM. I can control individual devices. I tried to run program, and nothing. I did run "then" will this run the actions of the program?
theedudenator Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 I ran the event viewer #3 I was on my program that used to work fine Ran "IF" Ran "THEN" These are the results: Thu 08/05/2010 10:06:10 PM : [ Time] 22:06:11 0(0) Thu 08/05/2010 10:06:12 PM : [ Time] 22:06:14 0(0) Thu 08/05/2010 10:06:12 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.10 CF 11 00 06 LTONRR (00) Thu 08/05/2010 10:06:13 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.13 CF 11 00 06 LTONRR (00) Thu 08/05/2010 10:06:13 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 14.0D.E6 0F 46 00 06 (00)
Michel Kohanim Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Hello theedudenator, It seems that ISY has a hard time communicating with that specific device (3 INST-ACK and no SRX). This means that ISY tried 3 times to communicate with the device and it couldn't. Can you control this device using the main screen in the Admin Console? Try doing a query on it (right mouse click and then Query). With kind regards, Michel
theedudenator Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Can you tell what that device is? It is a scene that turns all outside lights off/on. I can control the individual outside lights without issues.
Michel Kohanim Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Hi theedudenator, Sorry, I didn't pay close attention to the event. In short, it's only your scenes that do not work. Would you please try restoring one or two of the devices in the scene? If that works (i.e turning on/off the scene has the desired impact on those devices), then follow up with File | Restore Devices ... this might take a long while. With kind regards, Michel
theedudenator Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 The only scene that would work was "My lighting" I created a new scene and put it in a program - that worked. So I deleted my scenes and recreated them. Now things generally work. It seems I am having some communication issues now. I have a program to turn on lights at dusk. I run the program, it turns most of the lights on, but the program status says they are all on. If I then query the devices they will correct and show off. If I run the program a few times in repetition, they will eventually all turn on.
Michel Kohanim Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Hello theedudenator, Please use Tools | Diagnostics | Scene Test to test your scenes for communication problems. If some devices in some scenes fail, we have to figure out what's causing the issue. theedudenator Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Ok, I ran these tests. What is the best way to post the output?
Michel Kohanim Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Hello theedudenator, You do not have to post anything. Did you get any failures? if so, we have to figure out what's causing the failures. What I would do is repeat the same test with ALL devices OFF. If the test succeeds, then it means one of your devices is causing noise. With kind regards, Michel Ok, I ran these tests.
