February 3Feb 3 So this device is promoted is having integrated HomeKit support, but I have no idea how to add it to Apple home. I just received the Eisy 2.0 migrated from a 994 everything is fine. I can control it via the UD app, as well as the admin web interface. But I don’t see anything in the UD Mobile app or on the admin interface that tells you how to add this to Apple HomeKit. There is no Apple HomeKit QR code on the device, and no matter number anywhere. The whole point of me buying this was to do so. If this is not possible, then I have to return it. So someone, please let me know
March 5Mar 5 Then what?I’ve got the iox-matter node server installed but see nothing other than node server running. Is there a HomeKit QR code to add the eisy to Home? Seen some claims the code appears in notifications, nothing for me. frustrating to see homekit support advertised while no instructions whatsoever. Scoured forums and internet for help but mostly dead ends and “AI” rabbit holes. I can add devices to home but see nothing other than options or method to share with eisy/matter plug in Adding directly to UD Mobile fails Perhaps the apple updates have changed things? Maybe a home hub/homepod now required? (not just for remote access).Any pointers appreciated. On 2/8/2026 at 10:16 AM, WRamsey said:Install the box-matter plugin for PG
Sunday at 07:56 AM5 days I too have the same issue. I want to control my Insteon devices from HomeKit. I have installed the Matter Plug-In on my Eisy and the node is active. When I try to add an accessory using the Home app on my iPhone, the app wants a QR code or the device to have NFC.I have an Apple TV as the HomeKit Hub.Can anybody tell me the steps involved to achieve this goal ?

The notifications look a lot like this:I also recall that my notifications did not come up at first, but I don't remember what I did, if anything, to resolve that problem. I can tell you that restarting the node server and rebooting the EISY are often methods to solve such nuisances and maybe that was my solution.Once one has this code, I added it to apple home. The single code will add the Insteon devices in your system, but I recall that other devices (z-wave, govee, hue, etc....) may not add as part of the matter node server.
Monday at 07:55 PM3 days Thank you oberkc for your assistance. It has all worked out (so far) to add my Insteon switches and plugs to Apple Home/HomeKit. I am using an Apple TV as my hub. As others have noted it does not add the Insteon dual receptacles correctly. Only the top outlet shows up in Apple Home, and even that doesn't do anything. If you try and turn it on it will revert back immediately on the screen to being turned off.I'm not aware of a complete list of instructions to add the Insteon devices on Eisy to Apple Home/HomeKit, so this is my suggestion:(1) Go to polyglot (PG3) and install the iox-matter node server, using an empty slot.(2) As oberkc said, go to the node server dashboard on Poyglot, and save a copy of the QR code that was generated. Note that if you delete and re-install this node server, a different QR code will be generated. This is the QR code you will beed to pair the Eisy with Apple Home/HomeKit.(3) Make sure the "Matter" device/node is "online" and has an "active" bridge status in the Admin Console list of devices.(4) Go to the Matter tab on the top edge of the Admin Console screen. Perform a "Synchronize" with "New & Deleted with Interview". wait for this to complete. This will create several pseudodevices with the names in format ZM XXX.1 Main, where XXX is a 3 digit number starting at 001. I believe these correspond to your Insteon devices. None of these pseudodevices will do anything if you try and turn them on or query them, but they should all be "Online" and "Active". (5) To do the pairing your iOS device might have to be close to the Eisy. I can't tell you how close, mine was about 6" away. The "Matter" bridge node described in (3) has to be "Active", Your Apple hub has to also be active. (6) Using your iPhone or iOS tablet open up the Home /HomeKit app. Tap the "+" sign to add an accessory. Scan the setup QR code you obtained in step (2) above. (6) If all goes well you will be asked to approve an uncertified device. Do it.(7) Reboot your iPhone or other iOS device to pull in all the Insteon devices into Apple Home/HomeKit.If you have any issues then reboot your devices - Eisy, IPhone, and Apple Hub along the way. If the Matter node server stops working on the Eisy then restart the iox-matter node server in PolyGlot. You might also want to synchronize UD mobile with your controller (Eisy) so you can see the status of the "Matter" node server. You may have to try this a number of time.As others have suggested if the Insteon devices disappear from the Home/HomeKit app, try restarting the iox-matter node server in PolyglotIf you make a mistake and want to start afresh, delete the Matter bridge that serves as the basis of the integration between Eisy and Apple Home. It worked for me to delete the bridge in Apple Home (go to settings of any of the associated devices in Apple Home, where you will seen "Bridge"), delete the node and associated pseudodevices in the Admin Console, and delete the iox-matter node server in Polyglot. Then reinstall the iox-matter node server. Start again at step (1) above,Forgive me for repeating anything which is already out on the Forum. I have had difficulty finding answers to my questions about this. I believe that I have erred in trying to use Google searches to find out information about this topic. The standard Google AI search is of course generally useless, as it overgeneralizes and throws together irrelevant information. Perhaps it hallucinates information. Then, the basic Google search does not seem to utilizes content in the UD Forums very well. I now believe that I should always go to the UD Forums directly,
Monday at 09:42 PM3 days @JohnC I've given up trying to make this work with Apple. It was hopeful and I think I got it to work for a bit, but the plugin keeps expiring and it's not something I use enough to try to make it work right. Out of 40+ Insteon nodes I have maybe 10 worked as expected and those were just on/off switches. I couldn't get fans, dual or dimmer outlets to work. Having to set this up multiple times and knowing that so many didn't work I'd end up having to skip programming them and it was too time consuming to try to get things setup or not setup to mess with it. So the last time the plugin quit working (maybe a month ago) I just haven't done anything about trying to get it reset. Thankfully my Alexa setup still works as expected so I really don't need the Apple connection. Though it was nice to have the watch turn stuff on/off rather than having to "yell" at Alexa.
Monday at 10:43 PM3 days I get it. That is disheartening to hear about the plug-in expiring on you. I guessing there is no way to pay for a subscription or perpetual license fee ?
