Hi I have an ADT security system with wireless sensors on all doors and windows. My rental clients are leaving the doors and windows open while the AC is running. How can I access the ADT door/window status and can I control the Venstar thermostat from EISY?

Some missing info:

• Do you have ADT and Venstar plugins for Eisy, working?

• Which Venstar- Old school Insteon, Color Touch, or?

I can speak to the Color Touch. Create and iox programs. This is more pseudo code but you can find the right things in the eISY interface:

If

Window 1 is open

or Window 2 is open

or. Window 3 is open (keep following the pattern, use 'or' for catching any one of them)

Then

Set Venstar Mode = Off

The slipperier slope is do you reverse it if they close all the windows? If yes, then its a similar program, but with "and"s instead of "or"s. With "and"s, they all have to be closed. But when they close the windows it might because it's cold out and you're turning on the air. I'd start with the first program above and see how it goes. They'll figure out the system is off.

I do NOT have the ADT nor Venstar plugins installed.

I could not find where to add them nor how to in the admin console...Help here would be appreciated.

I have the Venstar Colortouch thermostat (wifi) and the ADT "pulse" I believe.

My initial strategy was to have the AC turn off if a door or window was left open for ~20 minutes. Then enable the thermostat when all doors and windows are closed. The AC has it's own short cycle protection.

We have had two sets of guests leave doors open for up to 11 hours when the AC is running...we would provide a placard to the guests that the AC is smart and will shutoff if the doors or windows are left open.

RE: AC or Heat...we set the heat or AC setting before the guests arrive.

You're still new to the eisy, or have never worked with plugins? Click on "plugins" at the top in admin console and then "Launch Polyglot", and log in with your admin login and password. You'll probably get a safety warning, which you can override. Once in, click on the "Plugins store" and find the VenstarCT plugin, and install it. Try it first in demo mode. There are instructions in "more info".

I'm not familiar with a ADT plugin and don't see one listed. Anyone else familiar with this might be able to say something about that.
