New eisy lite

Featured Replies

I just stumbled across the announcement for the eisy lite. The cost of RAM has pushed up the price of the eisy r2 again, and UDI wanted to offer a lower cost alternative. The interesting thing is that the eisy lite has 4 GB of RAM instead of 8, and is a bit slower. That kind of vindicates the viability of the Polisy, which also has 4 GB. Just a thought.

The r2 price hasn't increased at the Canadian ditributor yet. If you're in Canada and want one, don't wait!

Looks like both are unavailable currently (aartech).

eisy r2 - $839 "out of stock"

eisy lite - $630 "on order with vendor"

I had been thinking of making the move to eisy r2 from the Polisy (5.4.4) -- but when is r3 coming out? ;-) .
The Insteon side is little more than a simple backup/restore, but also needing to at same time rebuild my 700 series USB dongle ZWave inventory, moving it to the new ZWave hardware, there is no easy path for that.

The r2 is still very new, less than a year old.

There is a documented procedure for migrating from the Zooz dongle to the ZMatter dongle...but it doesn't work. Myself and others have not succeeded in doing it. However the Zooz dongle will also work with the eisy, so it's not mandatory that you upgrade to the ZMatter dongle unless you actually want the additional Zigbee functionality.

It's also not clear if the ZMatter dongle is still available.
