Correct way to "migrate" from Java 8 to JDK for Mac?

Featured Replies

Currently I'm running Java 8 on my apple silicon Macbook pro in the form of the IoX Launcher. I would assume it was installed this way from an old restore point when I bought this mac years ago. In any case, I've been using it this way for many years and just started recently receiving a message that the Intel based install of Java won't be supported on my mac with the new upcoming MacOS 27 update.

That being said, I don't know the "proper" way of migrating over to the other version of Java. I know Java can be somewhat challenging at times so wanted to at least ask the group if there are any others that have done this or what the proper method is before I just start uninstalling and reinstalling a new version and hoping it works.

Thanks in advance
