13 hours ago13 hr Hi ,My eisy/ZMatter Z-Wave occasionally crashes. IoX stays up and the Admin Console shows Z-Wave as not responding. Is there a native IoX condition, system status, or REST endpoint that exposes the Z-Wave controller connected/not-connected state so I can trigger a notification? I’d prefer to keep it entirely on the eisy. I tried querying Z-Wave endpoints, but the query doesn't reliably fail:ZW Canary Poll - [ID 0093][Parent 0082][Not Enabled]If From 12:00:00AM For 24 hours Then Repeat Every 5 minutes Set 'Main House / Outlets / ZY 083 OutletZ02 (Blue)' Query Set 'Main House / Outlets / ZY 081 OutletZ01 (Red)' Query Wait 30 seconds Run Program 'ZW Down State' (If)Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
3 hours ago3 hr Check your connection between the eisy and the Zwave dongle. If the dongle is plugged directly into a usb port try using a short usb cable to take the strain off the usb port on the eisy.
2 hours ago2 hr Author Hmmm. I hadn't even considered that and the dongle is "hanging" a bit from the eisy. Very insightful. Bought a 1ft USB extension and will report back,Thanks!
2 hours ago2 hr Is it advisable to mount the Zwave antenna remote from an extension? I recently turned the eisy a bit to get over a couple missed calls from my Schlage doors. I noted also at the same time that eisy was rather warm. I'm guessing that is the nature of the beast!
2 hours ago2 hr Both my Zwave dongles come from originally being internal boards on a Polisy, so I ended up making my own enclosures which are on USB extension cables. Works very well. If you already have it as a dongle, a simple USB male-female extension should be easy to get.
