I have the Universal Devices (UD) Zmatter board. According to the latest UD software release, Matter is now Included for WiFi based devices. For Thread based devices, you need a border router. Since UD now supports the AeoTec Z-Stick 10 Pro – Dual protocol Zigbee/Z-Wave dongle, there seems to be no additional Matter functionality I get with the Zmatter board vs. the AeoTec dongle. Is this correct??

That's right, the ZMatter board ended up not having anything to do with Matter. It could have, but in the end, a border router turned out to be the way to get Thread functionality.
