Featured Replies

Hi,

Just wondering if a virtual device could be added showing a percent value for humidity etc.

Thanks.

Please disregard. Ill try using a dimmer switch.

I have been trying the virtual dimmer but have a couple of questions. First my conf is {"type": "dimmer", "name": "Light Level"}. I noticed that you can't add special characters like % to the name. I am updating the status from a variable and can't seem to get the status to show 0. The lowest it will go is 5,

Thanks for any assistance.

Gary

@garybixler ,

Hi Gary, you are right special characters are not allowed as node names in any UD node. The 5 is being inserted when the node is on and you try to set the dimmer to zero. You can set 1,2,3,4. If you want zero then turn the node off. This is a bit of a carry over of using this as a dimmer node. So you cannot be on and zero at the same time. Hope this helps.

@sjenkins

Hi,

I tried setting different things at the node but every time it gets an update from the variable that is 0 it defaults to 5. Maybe I missed something that you were saying. I did see the range in the virtual dimmer definition showing a range of 1-100. Is there something need in the definition?

Thanks

Gary
