How to skip Elk device numbers in import

I am trying to use a mixture of insteon and zwave for my home automation. I need to be able to skip the first 10 device numbers or so (A1-A10) to reserve them for my zwave node numbers. How can I do this? Or, how can I add dummy insteon devices to keep those from being used for real devices?

OK. I did a test. I imported the Elk file into RP. I then went back to the XML file and edited it with wordpad and changed D08 device to E08. I imported the Elk file again and the device jumped from D08 to E08. It should work the same for you, you'll just have to edit the file for all devices that you want to shift down.

There still may be issues but let us know what you find.

I did not test it as my XEP is on the fritz, hence the few disclaimers in my previous posts. I simply tested the manual changing of the addresses and the fact that they successfully import into elk. I figured that if it didn't work you could clear all devices and re-import the unmodified file and you'd be back to square one.

I think that the way this works is that Elk addresses a device internally using the x10 type terminology which outputs an Intseon address via IP (not powerline), which the ISY accepts and transmits on the powerline.

In short, I believe that the x10 type address is not going to affect anything outside of Elk, so I think that should work.
