Keypad Linc and garage door status

I have a 8 button Keypd Linc. I have buttons C & D set to back light on if garage doors are closed, (C is garage bay 1 and D is garage bay 2) and off if garage door is open. My garage doors are set to closed = on, and open = off.

 

If I see the keypad link light is off, meaning garage door is open, I then like to be able to press that button and close the garage door, and have the appropriate back light illumination of on displayed.

 

currently if I press the keypad linc button from a on state to off, the illumination off. how can I get these buttons to stay in sync with the garage door status.
