jkraus Posted November 30, 2010 Share Posted November 30, 2010 I ordered a new DB PLM over the weekend when I thought my old one (non-DB) was biting the dust. It turned out that it was not my PLM going bad but rather an EZX10 (Thnaks you Michel for helping me out). In any case since I now have the new PLM what are the advantages? I think I read they are faster, but any other benefits or downsides (besides separate power supply)? For new install I think I have the sequence correct: - power off ISY -exchange PLMs -power up ISY - restore PLM - restore devices Correct? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Restore Modem (PLM) puts the new PLM ID in all the devices as part of the Restore Modem function. Even warns to put RF devices in the linking mode. If any have the green arrow pointing at them after Restore Modem then you will want to Write Updates to Device. OK, but a restore PLM takes quite a while, do your Remote Lincs and MS time out first?
