lazarow Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I have dusted off my ControLinc and was going to use it with some Lamplincs and Appliacelincs to control the Christmas Decorations. I have been unable to link to the ControLinc using the "Link to ControlLinc" Function from the administrative conrol panel. I even ran an extension cord from another outlet to the PLM and connected the ControLinc to the same extension cord. The ISY never recognizes the ControLinc. Help! Art
Michel Kohanim Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Hello Art, Would you please open the Event Viewer on the last level and retry. Then copy and paste the output to here and we'll see what's going on. With kind regards, Michel
lazarow Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Michel, Probably should have mentioned this. When I click on Tools/Diagnostics/Event Viewer, nothing happens. Art
Brian H Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Did you set the Event Viewer to Device Communications Events or Level 3 if you have an older version?
LeeG Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 lazarow When you say nothing happens, you mean the Event Viewer popup does not display (in which case a delete of the Java cache is a good place to start) or the Event Viewer does not trace Insteon traffic (in which case Brians question is important)? lazarow Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 Last night, the ControLinc was not in My Lighting after several attempts to link to it. In addition, the event viewer would not open up. I shut everything down last night and when I opened the adminsitrative control panel, lo and behold, it was there. Then I tried opening up the event viewer and it opened flawlessly. Maybe I was too impatient waiting for the ISY to locate the ControLinc. I don't know but it is in My Lighting now. Thanks for the suggestions. Art Lazarow
MatthewInOK Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I'm trying to add my first ControLinc #2430 and I get this error: "Subscriber didn't reply to event 1" "Node not added - Failed restoring device (15 66 89 1) [-200000/-10] Any thoughts? LeeG Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 MatthewInOK The ID-REQ command is not being processed by the ControLinc. I reproduced the same condition with my ControLinc. Add the ControLinc by using New INSTEON Device and select Device Type ControLinc from the pulldown. Lee
MatthewInOK Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 LeeG: Thanks! That worked perfectly. I figured since it was a brand-new device (arrived two days ago) it would work with the default settings.
