Remote access problems

Last month i finally learned how to do port forwarding. and access my security camera server, i then set up my isy to access remotely and had no problems. I was last in remotely friday, well today tried to go in and it won't work. it says http 404 not found rechecked my router and shows in the logs the connection and to rout it but nothing happens. the isy is set for a static ip and is still the same. my cameras still work and the isy works from my network just not remotely and i set to enable internet access and checked the address. also the NTP server will not synchronize it errors.

Just went thru the router and no conflicts on the ports. i am still getting an error for ntp server error when i try to synchronize time? i have a red exclamation point in front of the ntp server.

while were on the subject on ports, can anyone explain how come if i change the port from default on the isy it seems to disappear? no matter what i set it for it does want to show on the network and i have to jump thru hoops to get it back.

my event viewer was showing about every 30 seconds setting time which has had an exclamation point in front of it as long as i havn't had remote access. so i set the isy to auto dhcp still would not work. downgraded to 2.8.10 and bingo now everything is working. i have my time back and my remote access but lost a lot of changes to devices and programs.

Hi Jay,

To answer your question, there are a list of TCP ports that are known for other applications and UPnP (the protocol that lets your computer find ISY in the network) is very picky. So, port 80 is for HTTP, 443 is for HTTPS and so on and so forth. If you want to change your ISY's port, make sure you use a number that is NOT in the list below:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TC ... rt_numbers

OR, at the minimum, use numbers above 2000.

With kind regards,

Michel
