arzoo Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Hi, I'm trying to configure the ISY for internet access with my Cisco 871 router. Initially all I want to do is assign a static IP using the ISY's mac as the client identifier. But for some reason the ISY won't pick up the new static IP with DHCP enabled. The thing is, I've assigned static IPs for other devices on my network (xbox, slingbox, blu-ray, etc.), so I'm pretty sure the router is configured correctly and I triple checked all the settings. I guess I could disable DHCP and manually configure the static on the ISY, but I'd prefer if the router handled the static. Any thoughts on why the ISY with DHCP on will not pick up the new static IP?
arzoo Posted March 18, 2011 Author Posted March 18, 2011 Never mind - figured out the problem. Just had to force the 871 to drop the lease on the old IP and then reboot the ISY.
