LeeG Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Update Admin Console to use Extended Set/Get (0x2E) to change device Local On Level and Ramp Rate values. Using the current Peek/Poke method to alter device memory requires a power cycle of the device for the changes to take effect (just verified with LampLinc and SwitchLinc). Using Extended Set/Get to change the same values has an immediate effect, not requiring a power cycle (also verified on LampLinc and SwitchLinc). This would avoid users expending time trying to determine why Local On Level and Ramp Rate changes are not working.
Michel Kohanim Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Hello LeeG, Thanks so very much. The main issue is that on older units, i2 is not supported. So, for the newer units, in fact we do use Get/Set as long as ISY has been able to determine that the device supports i2 Commands. Of course, this is broken in 3.1.1 because of the bug we introduced. With kind regards, Michel
LeeG Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 Thanks Michel Was not aware that 3.1.1 had introduced an issue recognizing I2. That explains why the increase in incidence of having to power cycle devices. Thank you for the info. Lee
Michel Kohanim Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Hello LeeG, Yes, this is the same bug that affects IOLinc and button backlight on KPLs/SWLs. With kind regards, Michel
